1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage Snaploom uses on snaploom.net, its camera pages, galleries and dashboard, what each one is for, and how you can control them. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar, but stay in your browser and are not sent to our servers. “First-party” cookies are set by Snaploom; “third-party” cookies are set by a service we use, here only our third-party analytics.
3. Cookies We Use
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not let advertisers place cookies on Snaploom.
Essential
Needed for the Service to work or stay secure. They cannot be switched off.
| Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Keeps creators signed in to their dashboard | First-party cookie | Until you sign out, renewed while you use it |
| A random id that limits how many photos one phone can upload per minute, so a busy venue on one network still works. Holds nothing about you | First-party cookie | 1 year |
| Remembers a friend's invite code until you sign up, so they get credit for the link you followed | First-party cookie | 30 days |
| Remembers your cookie banner choice | Local storage | 1 year, then we ask again |
Functional
Remember choices you make, so you are not asked again. Used if you choose Accept essential or Accept, and until you choose; choosing Decline turns them off and clears them.
| Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Remembers whether you chose to see prices in US dollars or Nepali rupees | First-party cookie | 1 year |
| Remembers that you accepted a camera page's welcome screen | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| Remembers which camera on your phone to open | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| Remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is collapsed | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| Loads creators' card fonts faster, and reloads the page once after we release an update | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
Analytics
Help us see how the Service is used, so we can fix what is confusing. Set by our third-party analytics provider, which records pages visited, clicks, scrolling, device type and approximate location as heatmaps and session replays. They are set only if you choose Accept on our cookie banner, not with Accept essential or Decline. Camera pages never ask, so guests who have not chosen are never tracked.
| Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Recognise a returning browser and group its page views into a visit | Third-party cookie | Up to 1 year |
| Remember the page or link that first brought you here, so we can see which ones lead to sign-ups | First-party cookie | 90 days |
4. Other Technologies
We do not use advertising pixels, web beacons or Flash cookies on the website. Error reports we receive when something breaks do not use cookies.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may stop camera pages from uploading; blocking the others only means we forget your choices. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline and do not ask.
You can change your analytics choice at any time:
